Job summary

VitalCaring is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to deliver direct physical therapy in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed PT. You will guide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance work, and functional mobility to restore independence and reduce pain.

This field-based, patient-centered role offers autonomy with support, flexible schedules, ongoing training, and collaboration with nurses and therapists to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program.
• Current PTA license or certification as required by state law.
• 1+ year of experience preferred (home health experience a plus).
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Follow individualized plans of care to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, and functional mobility.
• Support patients with transfers, strengthening, and activities of daily living.
• Utilize modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as appropriate.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and use of assistive devices.
• Observe and report patient progress and communicate with the care team.
