Job summary

Mountaineer Homecare, part of LHC Group under UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to implement treatment plans and educate patients to enhance well-being. You will work within supervising PT guidelines and collaborate with a broader care team.

Responsibilities include patient exercise instruction, observation and reporting of progress, and education for patients, families, and caregivers in home care settings.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed to assist in the practice of physical therapy in the state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance or access to reliable transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care and adhere to the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instruct patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment; coordinate care with the PT, nurse supervisor, and physician.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver and other health-care team members in the areas of therapy within the PTA scope.
• Provide care in diverse home settings and maintain patient safety and quality of life.
