Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients as part of a home care plan. The role emphasizes following the established plan of care and collaborating with supervising therapists to optimize patient well-being.

Responsibilities include assisting with exercises, monitoring patient progress, and coordinating care with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and perform only those procedures defined by the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in exercises, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment; coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other health care team members in therapy within the scope of physical therapy assistant.
• Function in diverse home environments respecting all patients' backgrounds.
