Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, via LHC Group and the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for home-care patient services. You will administer therapy per the plan of care and provide education to patients and families to improve well-being.

You will follow state regulations, work with the supervising PT, and participate in a team that supports caring, connecting, and growing together within a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and act only within the plan of care defined by the supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, functional activities, transfer, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses and changes to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and physician.
• Coordinate care with other health care team members as appropriate.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other team members in therapy within the PTA scope.
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.

Education

Current PTA license in state of practice or eligibility

CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
