Job summary

Signature Healthcare at Home in NW Washington seeks a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant to provide in-home PTA services across Whatcom, Skagit and Island Counties. The role offers flexible scheduling with day visits Mon–Fri and self-directed territory planning. Travel and autonomy are intrinsic, with reimbursement for mileage.

Eligible candidates are CAPTE-approved PTA graduates licensed in WA, with current BLS CPR certification. Must have access to a vehicle and valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CAPTE-approved Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensed to practice as PTA in Washington state.
• Maintain active BLS CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide PTA services under physical therapist directions and plan of care.
• Treat patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain max performance.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training.
• Document treatments and patient responses in clinical notes per timeframes.
• Instruct patients on use of mobility aids and prosthetic/orthotic devices.

Signature Healthcare at Home is looking to add a PRN PTA to our service area in NW Washington!This position would provide physical therapy assistant services in Whatcom, Skagit and Island Counties on as-needed basis. Own your schedule!This position has flexible scheduling with visits Monday through Friday day shift, with self-directed scheduling dependent on patient needs and territory. If you enjoy a high level of autonomy, travel and meeting patients where they are, apply today!Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides direct physical therapy according to the directions of the physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.Utilizes physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.Observes and reports to the physical therapist and the Organization personnel the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in patient’s condition.Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.Maintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient’s clinical record in prescribed time frames.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceHave graduated from a Physical Therapy Assistant program approved by CAPTE and have passed a national examination for physical therapy assistants.Must be licensed and able to practice in Washington State.Must hold and maintain an active BLS CPR certification.The ability to drive and/or have access to transportation for agency related travel (e.g. patients, community partners, etc.) is an essential function of the job.
