Job summary

Optum is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide in-home therapy under supervision, following the plan of care to improve patient well-being. You will educate patients and families and coordinate with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include assisting with exercises, mobility training, and documenting patient progress in diverse home settings. Weekend rotation is required and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and adhere to the supervising PT plan of care.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, and mobility training.
• Observe and report patient response, coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within the scope of physical therapy assistant.
• Maintain ability to function in diverse home environments.
