Job summary

Optum and CAREtenders Westborough are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment, provide exercise instruction and patient education as part of the established plan of care. You will work in home care, following supervision by a Physical Therapist to improve patient well-being.

Responsibilities include directing exercises, evaluating patient progress, and coordinating with the health care team. Weekend availability and a valid PTA license are required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care and adhere to the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instructs and aids patients in active/passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfers, and mobility training.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and coordinates care with the health care team.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and team on therapy within the PTA scope.
• Function in diverse home settings and ensure safety and appropriate care.
