Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Nursing Care Home Health, a part of LHC Group, is hiring an Occupational Therapist to assess and treat patients in home health settings, focusing on functional status, daily living activities, fine motor skills, home assessments and adaptive equipment.

The OT will evaluate, document, and coordinate with physicians and care teams to develop and implement therapy plans while complying with CMS requirements, with emphasis on compassionate, independent practice and strong

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy licensure in LA.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Preferred CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Good communication, writing, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Provides service within the scope of practice as defined by state laws governing Occupational Therapy and the plan of care.
• Evaluates the patient’s functional status and CMS-related needs in collaboration with the physician.
• Observes and reports to the nurse supervisor and physician on patient response to treatment.
• Conducts patient assessments evaluating functional level using standard tests.
• Functioning in diverse home settings with respect for all clients.
