Job summary

Maxim Healthcare in Ohio is seeking caregivers to assist patients according to the plan of care. You will help with baths, oral hygiene, dressing, feeding, vital signs, safe transfers, range of motion, and safety.

You will observe and report patient conditions and maintain clear communication with the client, family, and office. Requirements include CPR certification, the ability to read and document care, state/federal training compliance, and completion of Maxim’s competency program.

Qualifications

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given.
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation.
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient per plan of care: baths, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting, feeding.
• Take and record temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered.
• Safe transfer and ambulation techniques; assist with range of motion.
• Exercise according to plan of care; perform extensional therapy as ordered.
• Assist with patient laundry and safety using equipment properly.
• Observe and document patient condition; report changes to nurse supervisor.
• Communicate clearly with client, family/caregiver and office.
• Follow plan of care and complete all assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting patient with and per plan of care, the following;
• Baths, Oral hygiene, Dressing and undressing, Toileting activities, feeding, etc
• Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
• Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
• Exercise according to the plan of care
• Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
• Patient’s laundry
• Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
• Observation and teaching of home safety practices
• Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures
• Must follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assigned
• Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office
• Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor

Requirements

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
