Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Direct Care Worker to provide in-home assistance with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, following the Service Authorization and Plan. Duties include helping with mobility, nutrition, safety, infection control, and documenting services.

Requirements include English literacy, CPR, current health screening, and state-approved competency or training program.

Qualifications

• Must read and write proficiently in English.
• CPR card is current.
• Health screening current per state regulations.
• Provide proof of one of: a competency evaluation or a state-approved training program.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Assists with ambulation, transfers, and repositioning.
• Assists with nutrition and dietary needs.
• Provides safe and sanitary environment and basic infection control.
• Gives medication reminders as directed by plan.
• Maintains client confidentiality and reports changes as required.
• Delivers and documents services per Maxim instructions.

Job description

Hourly Pay: $15 - $18 / per hour

Position Description:

An individual who provides assistance with activities of daily living and/or instrumental activities of daily living to consumers in accordance with the Service Authorization and/or Service Plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides assistance to assigned clients including, but not limited to the following:
• Assistance with activities of daily living
• Assisting with ambulation and transfer activities and repositioning of client
• Assistance with nutritional and dietary needs
• Essential household duties
• Provide for safe and sanitary consumer environment
• Utilize basic infection control technique and procedures
• Provide medication reminders as directed by the Service Authorization and/or Service Plan
• Maintain client confidentiality
• Encourage client control of and promote the independent living philosophy
• Direct Care Worker shall deliver and document service to the client and document such service according to specific instructions from the Maxim designee and per Maxim policies and procedures. No changes in client care may be initiated without direction from Maxim designee. All changes in client status are to be reported to Maxim office
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to read and write proficiently in English
• Successful completion of the Direct Care Worker Competency evaluation process
• Current CPR Card
• Current Health Screening (in accordance with state regulations)
• Provide proof of one of the following qualifications:
• Has demonstrated competency by passing a competency evaluation developed by the Home Care Agency which meets the requirements of the state OR
• Completion of a training program developed by a Home Care Agency or Home Care Registry, or other entity which meets the requirements of the state or training program meeting the standards imposed on the agency or registry by virtue of the agency's or registry's participating as a provider in a Medicaid waiver or other publicly funded program providing home and community based services to qualifying consumers

Compliance & Ethics Expectations:

• Participates and successfully completes the company's compliance program requirements and adheres to the Code of Conduct, Company policies, and applicable federal and state requirements
• Sets an example for other employees regarding how the Company's Code of Conduct and Compliance Program is applied and observed every day when dealing with customers, business operations, or other teammates
• Reports potential violations of company policy, Code of Conduct, and/or applicable laws and regulations to the company hotline, thorough the chain of command, to the Compliance and Ethics Department, or through other channels made available by the company for reporting potential violations
• Promotes an environment in which other employees are encouraged to report potential violations
• As appropriate, provides input and suggestions regarding areas in which policies, procedures, workflows, and/or controls can be improved to enhance compliance
