Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide in-home personal care to a client in Wilmington, Delaware. You will follow the plan of care, assist with bathing, hygiene, feeding, and daily activities while documenting patient status for the supervising nurse.

Requirements include CPR certification, the ability to read and follow written instructions, and successful completion of Maxim’s competency program.

Qualifications

• Meets all state and federal training requirements.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given.
• Current CPR certification as required by state regulation.
• Successful completion of Maxim screening and competency program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with plan of care: baths, hygiene, dressing, feeding.
• Take and record vitals as ordered (temperature, pulse, respiration, BP).
• Support safe transfers, ambulation and ROM as ordered.
• Document patient condition and report changes to nurse.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting patient with and per plan of care, the following;
  • Baths, Oral hygiene, Dressing and undressing, Toileting activities, feeding, etc
  • Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
  • Exercise according to the plan of care
  • Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Patient’s laundry
  • Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
  • Observation and teaching of home safety practices
  • Recognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management procedures
• Must follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assigned
• Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and office
• Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor

Requirements:

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
