Job summary

Sikorsky Credit Union in Connecticut seeks a Home Loan Consultant to originate mortgage and home equity loans, meeting with members in person or by phone to discuss payment and equity objectives and select a loan program that fits their goals.

In this role you will work to achieve loan volume goals, serve branches in the assigned territory, and build relationships with real estate agents and financial professionals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience originating residential mortgage loans.
• Familiarity with Fannie Mae and FHLB guidelines; ability to learn portfolio products.
• Must complete and maintain NMLS registration annually.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation; travel up to 50%.
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mortgage LOS systems.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage and home equity loans per policies.
• Meet with members in person or by phone to discuss goals.
• Achieve loan volume goals; solicit referrals from borrowers/members.
• Serve branches in territory and train staff on lending needs.
• Call on real estate agents, attorneys, and financial professionals for referrals.
• Interview applicants, complete loan applications, and submit to fulfillment.
• Perform loan pre-approvals and counsel on suitable programs.
• Explain terms and ensure compliance with policy and regulations.
