Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks a Home Therapies Registered Nurse to educate and support dialysis patients in home modalities, including peritoneal and home hemodialysis. The position emphasizes one-on-one training, assessment of patient needs, and collaboration with the care team in Cadillac, MI and nearby Mt.

Pleasant as needed. The RN will train patients and families, perform assessments, and support the transition to home dialysis with safety and quality as priorities.

Qualifications

• Entry level RN with nephrology exposure and capstone training is acceptable.
• Certification in CPR/BLS preferred.
• Experience in home dialysis is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation as part of the ESKD team.
• Train patients and family on home dialysis modalities and equipment.
• Coordinate care with physicians, educators and other staff for safe dialysis delivery.
• Document nursing actions, labs, treatments and patient responses in records.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours coverage as required.
• Assist in transplant and treatment modality education for patients.
