Job summary

Airgas, Inc. in Clarksville, TN is seeking a Counter Sales/CDL Backup Driver. This role blends selling industrial and specialty gases with customer support and occasional backup driving duties.

You will load and unload cylinders, operate forklifts, help manage inventory, and assist with accounts receivable as needed. Schedule is Monday–Friday, home daily, with benefits after 30 days and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A or B Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Must have Hazmat Endorsement or obtain within 60 days.
• At least 1 year Class A driving experience in last 5 years.
• Must pass Airgas background and motor vehicle checks.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification required.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs, occasionally >100 lbs.
• Willing to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Must maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and overtime flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development: selling gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to new and existing customers.
• Customer Support: assist customers via phone, email, and in-person visits; advise on equipment use.
• Operations & Logistics: load/unload cylinders and backup driver duties; operate forklifts.
• Inventory Management: monitor hardgoods and cylinder levels to prevent outages.
• Administrative & Financial: handle accounts receivable and ensure accurate paperwork coding and pricing.
