Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Counter Sales Associate/Backup CDL Driver in Lexington, KY. The role blends customer sales with backup driving for high‑pressure and cryogenic cylinders, focusing on safety and DOT compliance.

You will support customers, manage loading/unloading, operate a forklift, and help with inventory and basic accounts receivable. The schedule is Monday–Friday, home daily, with a comprehensive benefits package after 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A or B Driver's License.
• Hazmat Endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• One year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five years.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs regularly and 76+ lbs occasionally.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Adherence to safety policies and ability to work overtime if needed.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development: Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related equipment to new and existing customers.
• Customer Support: Assist customers via email, phone, and in-person.
• Operations & Logistics: Load/unload cylinders, operate forklifts, backup driver as needed.
• Inventory Management: Monitor cylinder and hardgood levels to prevent shortages.
• Administrative & Financial: Handle accounts receivable and ensure accurate paperwork, pricing, and coding.
