Job summary

Airgas in Morrisville, NC is seeking a Counter Sales / CDL Route Backup Driver. This role combines counter sales with occasional backup driving duties and involves loading/unloading cylinders and forklift operation.

The position requires a valid Class A/B license, Hazmat endorsement (or ability to obtain), and a minimum of 1 year of Class A driving experience. Expect outdoor work, safety adherence, and OT as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A or B Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Hazmat Endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of Class A driving experience in the last 5 years.
• Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification required.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs, occasionally 76+ lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.
• Flexible to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development: Selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment; soliciting sales from new and existing customers.
• Customer Support: Assisting customers via email, telephone, and in-person walk-ins; guidance on equipment usage and material requirements.
• Operations & Logistics: Loading/unloading cylinders, operating forklifts, and backing up driver duties.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring cylinder and hardgoods levels to prevent shortages.
• Administrative & Financial: Managing accounts receivable and related paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing.
