Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Counter Sales / Backup CDL Driver in MORRISVILLE, NC. The role involves selling gases and related supplies, assisting customers, and performing backup driving duties with a focus on safe handling of high-pressure cylinders.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A or B Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Hazmat Endorsement or able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• One year of prior Class A professional driving experience in last 5 years.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification required.
• Ability to lift 25-75 lbs regularly, 76+ lbs occasionally.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.
• Overtime flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development: Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies and related equipment; solicit new and existing customers.
• Customer Support: Assist customers via email, phone, and in-person; provide guidance on equipment usage and materials.
• Operations & Logistics: Load/unload cylinders, operate forklifts, and back-up driver as needed.
• Inventory Management: Monitor cylinder levels to prevent supply shortages.
• Administrative & Financial: Manage accounts receivable; handle past-due accounts; code, cost, and price paperwork.
