Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a Special Educator to provide home and community-based instruction across Suffolk County, NY. The role supports students with IEP goals in the clients' homes and community settings, largely in the afternoon and evening hours aligned to school calendars.

Position can be part-time on a fee-for-service basis or a full-time arrangement depending on caseload. Compensation is $50-$70 per hour, with benefits available for 25+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• NYs Certification SWD (1-6,5-9,7-12, all grades or Permanent) required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children and families preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in the home and community setting to provide individualized lessons which target IEP goals.
• Develop creative and multi-sensory lessons based on IEP goals to engage learners with various abilities.
• Collect meaningful data on IEP goals and report quarterly on child’s progress with IEP goals.
• Ongoing communication with lead supervisors and school team.
• Maintain accurate attendance and submit electronic billing daily.
• Knowledge of discrete trial instruction, natural environment teaching, and incidental teaching is a plus.
• Attend professional development trainings to maintain best practice and personal development.
• Maintain professionalism with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
• Attend CSE meetings.
