Job summary

Assisting Hands Schaumburg is hiring caregivers, CNAs, and home health aides to provide non-medical support that helps seniors stay independent at home. You’ll work one-on-one with clients, following care plans, and coordinate with the office for updates.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience preferred.
• Comfortable working one-on-one in clients' homes.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal care.
• Prepare meals and help with light housekeeping.
• Provide companionship and meaningful conversation.
• Assist with mobility and daily routines.
• Encourage clients to stay active and engaged.
• Follow individualized care plans and client instructions.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a caregiver, you'll provide hands-on assistance and companionship based on each client's individual needs and established care plan. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other personal care needs
• Preparing meals and helping with light housekeeping
• Providing companionship and meaningful conversation
• Assisting with walking, mobility, and everyday routines
• Encouraging clients to remain active and engaged
• Providing reminders and general support throughout the day
• Following individualized care plans and client instructions
• Communicating changes, concerns, or important updates to the office
• Accurately documenting care and services provided

Your role goes beyond completing a checklist. You'll help create an environment where clients feel safe, respected, supported, and empowered to maintain their independence.

Experience

• Previous experience is valued but not required for the right candidate.

Requirements

Candidates must have:

• Reliable personal transportation
• Valid driver's license
• Current auto insurance
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Commute Consideration: Our clients are located throughout the Northwest Suburbs, and caregivers are expected to travel to client locations.
