Job summary

MedStar Health Home Care is seeking a Professional Development Specialist to lead professional development and clinical education across nursing, therapy, and support staff. You will assess learning needs, plan and implement evidence-based education programs, and ensure competency and compliance with regulatory standards.

The role partners with leaders to advance clinical care, staff development, and quality improvement, including documentation and reporting to support accreditation efforts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school is required.
• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school preferred or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school.
• 3-4 years experience working in skilled home care.
• 1-2 years experience in education or professional development preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to achievement of department goals and adheres to policies and safety standards.
• Plans and evaluates training and education programs for nursing, therapy, and support staff.
• Develops professional development goals and outcomes with nursing education leadership.
• Collaborates with operational leaders to implement effective educational programs across classroom, online, simulation, and home settings.
• Plans orientation programs for new personnel and ensures competency assessments.
