Job summary

MedStar Health in Baltimore seeks a nursing professional development leader responsible for guiding the education programs within the Department of Nursing. You will oversee a team of Nurse Educators, shape competency assessment, and align learning activities with regulatory standards and the system’s SPIRIT Values.

You will collaborate with executive leadership, implement orientation and residency programs, advance evidence-based practice, manage budgets, and drive professional development

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or Nursing Education from a nationally accredited program.
• Progressively responsible nursing roles with leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in nursing education or professional development in acute care setting.
• Experience leading a team of 15+ nursing educators preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development, execution, and evaluation of the nursing education program.
• Ensure adherence to policies, standards, and regulatory requirements; collaborate with leaders to implement education initiatives.
• Plan orientation and transition-to-practice programs; oversee unit-based orientation and residency efforts.
• Develop competency programs, document participation, and validate outcomes.
