Job summary

Brio Living Services in Niles, MI is seeking a Home Care PCA for a full-time 11:00–7:30 shift. The position supports participants enrolled in the PACE program, working 40 hours a week and traveling to homes in the area as required.

You will provide in-home care, assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and communicate changes to the Home Care Supervisor. Ideal candidates have 1 year of frail/elderly care, a Michigan driver’s license, CNA is preferred, PCA program completion

Qualifications

• One year of prior experience with frail or elderly individuals.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• CNA certification is desired; PCA program completion preferred.
• Current CPR or BLS certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on in-home care including bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting.
• Support mealtime: help participants eat and stay hydrated.
• Keep mobility: assist with turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Perform vital checks: measure and record vital signs, weight, intake/output.
• Maintain comfort & care: assist with housekeeping and shopping.
• Provide responsive support with kindness and compassion.

Travel Requirements: This role involves regular travel providing Home-Based Care.

What You’ll Do: The Home Care Participant Care Assistant (PCA) provides essential in-home care and assistance to participants enrolled in the PACE program. You will work closely with the Home Care Supervisor to deliver compassionate, person-centered care and support activities of daily living. From assisting with daily activities to providing comfort and companionship, your work will make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Hands-On Care in Their Home – Assist with personal care (ADLS) like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime– Help participants enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for good health.
• Keep Things Moving – Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – Support housekeeping tasks such as laundry, sweeping, and grocery shopping.
• Provide Responsive Support – Handle cares and respond with kindness and compassion.
• Monitor with Watchful Eyes – Report any changes in conditions to the leadership ASAP.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering top-notch care.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

• One (1) year of prior experience with frail or elderly individuals, aiding with daily living activities.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• CNA certification, desired.
• Completion of the Participant Care Assistant (PCA) program at PACE of Southwest Michigan or an equivalent training program if not a Certified Nurse Assistant.
• Current CPR or BLS certification or willing to obtain.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and operate as part of an interdisciplinary team.
