Job summary

Brio Living Services in St. Joseph, MI, seeks a Part-Time Home Care PCA to deliver compassionate, person-centered in-home care for PACE participants. You will work with the Home Care Supervisor to support daily activities and well-being.

The role includes assisting with ADLs, meals, mobility, vital checks, and housekeeping, with regular travel to participant homes. Weekend hours are included, plus one weekday shift.

Qualifications

• One year of prior experience with frail or elderly individuals.
• CNA certification desired.
• Completion of the PCA program at PACE of Southwest Michigan or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on home care (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting.
• Assist with mealtime and hydration.
• Support mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.

Home Care PCA: Part-Time

Department: Home & CBS

Employment Type: Part Time

Location: St. Joseph, MI

Compensation: $19.38 - $21.39 / hour

Schedule: 24 hours per week | This position works 8:00 AM–4:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday, plus one weekday shift. Wednesday is preferred for the weekday shift, but the weekday may be negotiable based on availability.

Travel Requirements: This role involves regular travel providing Home-Based Care.

What You’ll Do: The Home Care Participant Care Assistant (PCA) provides essential in-home care and assistance to participants enrolled in the PACE program. You will work closely with the Home Care Supervisor to deliver compassionate, person-centered care and support activities of daily living. From assisting with daily activities to providing comfort and companionship, your work will make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Hands-On Care in Their Home – Assist with personal care (ADLS) like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime– Help participants enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for good health.
• Keep Things Moving – Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – Support housekeeping tasks such as laundry, sweeping, and grocery shopping.
• Provide Responsive Support – Handle cares and respond with kindness and compassion.
• Monitor with Watchful Eyes – Report any changes in conditions to the leadership ASAP.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering top-notch care.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

• One (1) year of prior experience with frail or elderly individuals, aiding with daily living activities.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• CNA certification, desired.
• Completion of the Participant Care Assistant (PCA) program at PACE of Southwest Michigan or an equivalent training program if not a Certified Nurse Assistant.
• Current CPR or BLS certification or willing to obtain.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and operate as part of an interdisciplinary team.
