Brio Living Services in St. Joseph, MI is hiring a Home Care PCA for a full-time on-site role.

The PCA will provide essential in-home care to PACE participants, assisting with daily activities, meals, mobility, measurements, and comfort, while offering companionship and support. The role requires at least one year of relevant experience, a valid Michigan driver’s license, and a CNA certification or PCA program completion.

Qualifications

• One year of prior experience with frail or elderly individuals, aiding with daily living activities.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• CNA certification, desired.
• Completion of the Participant Care Assistant (PCA) program at PACE of Southwest Michigan or an equivalent training program if not a Certified Nurse Assistant.
• Current CPR or BLS certification or willing to obtain.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and operate as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide Hands-On Care in Their Home – Assist with personal care (ADLS) like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime– Help participants enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for good health.
• Keep Things Moving – Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – Support housekeeping tasks such as laundry, sweeping, and grocery shopping.
• Provide Responsive Support – Handle cares and respond with kindness and compassion.
• Monitor with Watchful Eyes – Report any changes in conditions to the leadership ASAP.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering top-notch care.

Compensation: $19.38 - $21.39 / hour

Schedule: 40 hours per week | 8am - 4:30pm | Wednesday-Sunday

Department: Home Care | PACE of Southwest Michigan | St. Joseph, MI

Travel Requirements: This role involves regular travel providing Home-Based Care.

What You’ll Do: The Home Care Participant Care Assistant (PCA) provides essential in-home care and assistance to participants enrolled in the PACE program. You will work closely with the Home Care Supervisor to deliver compassionate, person-centered care and support activities of daily living.
