Job summary

Owen Health Care Inc. in Bergen County is seeking a Part-Time Individual Support Worker to assist children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will travel to homes and communities, implementing tailored behavioral plans and supporting families and professionals.

You will monitor youth progress, deliver behavioral interventions, and help create safe, engaging activities that promote growth while upholding compassionate, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• College degree with one year of experience or a HS diploma with three years' supervised experience.
• Experience implementing positive behavior support plans for individuals with IDD.
• Ability to teach ADL/Instrumental skills to youth with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with families and professionals.
• Ability to work independently while following protocols and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist behavioral therapists to create individualized therapy programs for children and adolescents.
• Implement service plans and behavioral interventions in home and community settings.
• Monitor and document youth behavior and modify activities to fit therapeutic goals.
• Develop engaging recreational activities supporting emotional and social growth.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for youths.
