Job summary

Pacific Office Automation is seeking a Wide Format Service Technician to support customers nationwide. This home-based role requires ~50% travel across the Central and Eastern U.S.

You will diagnose, repair, install, and train on wide-format production equipment, with a focus on color management and RIP workflows. The ideal candidate has 2–6 years in field service, experience with Canon wide format equipment, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years minimum of relevant field service experience.
• Experience servicing wide format equipment and related technology.
• Canon wide format experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of Onyx software and production RIP workflows.
• Strong computer and networking knowledge.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone and onsite technical support to customers.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, software upgrades, and maintenance on production print equipment.
• Complete equipment installations, deinstallations, relocations, and operator training.
• Follow up with customers after installations to ensure proper operation.
• Manage upcoming installations and confirm site readiness (power, forklift, RIP compatibility).
• Provide high-quality technical support per company standards and service agreements.
• Assist customers with equipment questions and guidance on color management and production workflows.
• Develop knowledge of Onyx software and RIP systems to support print production environments.
• Understand RIP software management of print production and assist with questions.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current on products and procedures.
• Support sales teams by identifying upgrade opportunities and technical evaluations.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
