Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide home-based early intervention services for infants and toddlers in California.

You will work with families to implement the IFSP, coaching parents, and delivering therapy in homes and community settings. Ideal candidates have pediatric experience, strong clinical and interpersonal skills, and prefer bilingual Spanish capability.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a California Physical Therapist (DPT).
• Pediatric experience required, early intervention preferred.
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon).
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals.
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual).
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations).
