Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. in Monroe, NC seeks an empathetic Home Visitor for our Early Head Start Home-Based Program. You'll conduct weekly home visits, partner with parents to design learning experiences for infants and toddlers, and coach families to support development in the home.

Responsibilities include assessing progress, planning family activities, and connecting families with resources. Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm; 40 hours weekly. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ECE, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• 1–3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Home-based CDA or comparable credential.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within service area.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and use required computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly home visits with assigned Early Head Start families.
• Plan developmentally appropriate learning experiences with parents.
• Coach parents in supporting their child's learning and development.
• Assess children's progress and set individualized learning objectives.
• Coordinate group socialization activities for families.
• Provide family education on health, safety, nutrition, and more.
• Develop Family Partnership Agreements and track goals.
• Connect families with community resources and follow up on referrals.
• Ensure health screenings, well-child care, and immunizations are provided.
• Recruit eligible families and maintain family records in systems.
