Job summary

RHA Health Services in North Carolina is seeking AFL Professional Caregivers (Independent Contractor) to support adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their home. You will provide individualized care, assist with daily living, meals, transportation, and community integration, while maintaining dignity and privacy.

As an independent contractor, you’ll work from your own home, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, complete screenings, and follow the Person

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 18 years old or older.
• Documentation of home ownership: mortgage statement or renter's lease.
• Proof of homeowner's renter insurance or personal property insurance.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass criminal background check, Healthcare Registry and urine drug screen.
• Work as an Independent Contractor.

Responsibilities

• Understand the individual in the context of their personal history, social networks, and goals.
• Support the individual with nutritious meals, rest, daily self-care, leisure and community activities with respect for privacy and dignity.
• Assist with food preparation and home cleaning.
• Honor the choices, preferences and culture of the person you support.
• Assist in providing opportunities for social, emotional and spiritual needs.
• Coordinate transportation and scheduling of medical, therapy, vocational and recreational activities.
• Ensure the home environment is safe and well-maintained.
• Implement services to address goals in the Person Centered Plan.
• Assist the person by attending treatment team meetings and communicating needs and progress.
• Participate in supervision as outlined in the RHA contract.
