Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) is seeking a University Fellow to support Holocaust Center programs, including high school initiatives, Speakers Bureau, and statewide outreach. The role involves curriculum development, public engagement, and archiving work, in a part-time, hybrid setting for Oct 2026–June 2027.

The fellow must be an undergraduate or graduate student, authorized to work in the U.S. and able to operate within agency resources while upholding standards.

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a Bay Area university or college.
  • Experience with youth or education preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiar with Holocaust/genocide studies or Jewish studies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and build relationships with high school students.
  • Support curriculum and online educational tools for middle/high school learners.
  • Engage with Holocaust survivors and preserve stories.
  • Assist in public and Speakers Bureau programs.
  • Maintain digital resources for Tauber Holocaust Library and Archives.
  • Assist in California Collaborative for Holocaust and Genocide Education planning.
  • Contribute to social media and outreach content.
  • Collaborate with other JFCS programs and departments.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as needed.
  • Represent the Holocaust Center with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect privacy.
