Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Specialty Laboratory Technologist (Histocompatibility) to join the Histocompatibility and Immunology Laboratory (HLA Lab). The role supports solid organ and bone marrow transplant programs through serological and molecular HLA testing to optimize donor-recipient matching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related field.
• 0–1 year of clinical laboratory experience, preferably Histocompatibility/Immunology/Transplantation.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or Histocompatibility license required; DOH.
• ASCP certification (CHT/CHS) preferred if available.

Responsibilities

• Perform serological and molecular HLA testing to support solid organ and bone marrow transplantation.
• Maintain instrument performance, QC, and LIS documentation; sign off logs.
• Review critical test results and communicate with clinicians and nursing staff.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and temperature control of specimens and reagents.
• Assist in training, quality improvement projects, and collaboration with transplant teams.
