Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Specialty Laboratory Technologist (Histocompatibility) to join the Histocompatibility and Immunology Laboratory (HLA Lab). You will perform serological and molecular HLA testing to support solid organ and bone marrow transplant programs.

The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, NYS technologist license, and a commitment to regulatory compliance in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required.
• ASCP certification (preferred).
• ASHI Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS) (preferred).
• 0–1 year of experience in Histocompatibility/Transplant Laboratory (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform serological and molecular HLA testing to support solid organ and bone marrow transplantation.
• Perform quality control and instrument maintenance as required.
• Communicate results to clinicians and transplant teams promptly.
• Maintain records in LIS and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist in training and mentoring laboratory staff.
