Job summary

SBMF in Indiana is seeking a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician to join the day shift (5:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday to Friday with Saturday rotation). The role involves processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and labeling of surgical specimens, and performing high-complexity testing with special stains, IHC and IF staining.

Ideal candidates hold a BS with histotechnology program completion and ASCP HT certification (HTL), or a histotechnician (HT) credential with ASCP certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' of Science degree and completion of a histotechnology program; Certification as HTL by ASCP; Previous histology experience desired.
• High school graduate with completion of an accredited histology program; Certification as HT by ASCP; Previous histology experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and labeling of surgical specimens.
• Performing high complexity testing and special staining as assigned.
• Preparing reagents and dilutions for special stains and performs stains, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence stains.
