Job summary

CLS Labcorp Central Laboratory Services Limited Partnership in Torrance, CA seeks a Histotechnologist I to join our team. The position runs Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, handling histology workflows from accessioning to embedding, staining and slide scanning in a clinical trial environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science and ASCP HTL/HT licensure with at least one year of histology experience; ASCP/AMT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or equivalent meeting CLIA & State requirements.
• One year of clinical histology laboratory testing experience and HTL or HT ASCP licensing.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred; one year Immunohistochemistry experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain storage conditions and accession blocks and slides.
• Perform decalcification, processing, embedding, microtomy and re-embedding of tissue specimens.
• Conduct routine and special stains and advanced staining assays per SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Operate slide scanning per protocol and manage labeling/ accessioning processes.
• Document quality control results and maintain accurate records per SOPs.
