Job summary

Digital Prospectors in Redwood City, CA is seeking a Histotechnologist I to support routine and non-routine histology activities in a high-complexity laboratory. Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Clinical Science, or related field.
• 2-3 years of related experience in a high-complexity laboratory preferred.
• Experience with tissue processing techniques: microtomy, slide prep, H&E staining, IHC, macrodissection.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal lab regulations preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality standards and promptly report issues affecting results or safety.
• Perform histology activities: microtomy, H&E staining, immunohistochemistry.
• Train on workflow queues and support specimen workflow.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and controls.
• Perform and document equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Assist with sample returns as needed.
• Collaborate with Pathologists and cross-functional teams to ensure timely processing.
• Process specimens for research and development studies.
• Assist with troubleshooting and process improvements in Histopathology.
• Participate in audits and training of new personnel.
• Prioritize work and maintain strong quality focus.
• Communicate openly with team and customers.
• Comply with Quality Management System policies.
• Maintain designated schedule and computer skills.
