Job summary

Saint Clare's Health, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Histotechnician to join our pathology team in New Jersey. You will prepare specimens for histologic evaluation, perform routine and special stains, and maintain histology equipment under supervision of the Laboratory Director or designee.

Minimum 1 year of Histotechnician experience required; HT/ASCP certification preferred. This full-time, day-shift position offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of Histotechnician experience required (non-certified).
• Certified Histotechnician (HT/ASCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for microscopic evaluation by the Pathologist using microtomy, special staining, histochemistry, and related techniques.
• Process, cut, and embed tissue and body fluid samples.
• Perform routine and special staining procedures.
• Possess knowledge of immunohistochemical staining procedures when applicable.
• Operate and maintain histology equipment.
• Maintain manuals, logs and files for the department.
• Other tasks as assigned by department manager/director.
