Qualifications

• Requires NAACLS accredited HT program or equivalent education.
• Must have HT certification or be eligible for ASCP equivalent.
• English communication proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and processes tissue samples for routine and complex histologic techniques to be examined under a microscope by a pathologist.
• Includes fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining (H&E and Special Stains).
• Knowledge of advanced histology techniques such as immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization may be required.
