Job summary

VCU Health in the United States is seeking a Histotechnologist to prepare and process pathology specimens, performing routine and special stains, and ensuring accurate labeling and tracking until diagnosis.

You will work with complex staining, maintain equipment, support quality control, and participate in on-call and weekend rotations. A HT/HLT certification and a preferred Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science are required.

Qualifications

• Education and certification as HT/HLT per ACPath or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year histology lab experience if no B.S. in biology.
• New grads must certify within 12 months of hire.
• Rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform histology procedures including complex staining and immunohistochemistry.
• Label, track, and prepare slides for pathologist review.
• Maintain equipment, quality control, and inventory.
• Assist with accreditation and documentation.
