Job summary

The role requires an Associate’s degree in a laboratory science or equivalent, with experience in histology and quality control.

Qualifications

Requires Associate’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or equivalent education.
Experience in histopathology procedures preferred.
Ability to read and interpret scientific literature and governing SOPs.

Responsibilities

Prepare surgical and autopsy specimen materials for clinical diagnosis.
Assist pathologist in examinations of submitted specimens across histological procedures.
Process tissues using SOPs with tissue processors, microtomy, stainers, and digital scanners.
Cover beyond processing to embedding and microtomy; assist with IHC as needed.
Prioritize and reorganize work to meet STAT requests; perform instrument troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
Provide orientation or training to new staff or students; participate in quality control and performance improvement activities.
Function in on-call demands if required; perform barcoding and related tasks.
