Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Histotechnician for Windham Community Memorial. You will prepare, process, and stain tissue samples for microscopic examination by a pathologist, using standard histology techniques and advanced methods as required.

The role requires NAACLS HT program completion or HT certification, plus at least one year of clinical histology experience, and strong English communication with customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Histotechnician program or HT certification if not currently HT.
• At least 1 year of clinical histology experience.
• Effective communication of English language and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process tissue samples for routine and complex histologic techniques.
• Perform fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy and staining (H&E and Special Stains) under pathologist supervision.
• Utilize advanced techniques such as enzyme histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, cryotomy, immunofluorescence, and tissue microarray as needed.
