Job summary

Clovis Community College is establishing a part‑time History Instructor pool to staff courses as vacancies arise. The instructor will employ diverse pedagogies and deliver instruction in face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats, while maintaining accurate records and timely grading.

The successful candidate will promote equity, engage with a diverse student body, and contribute to culturally relevant professional development as part of the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in history and Master’s in political science, humanities, geography, area studies, women’s studies, social science or ethnic studies; or
• A valid California Community College Credential; or
• The equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency).

Responsibilities

• Teaching a part‑time schedule of History courses as assigned.
• Using a variety of pedagogies and technologies for face‑to‑face, online, and/or hybrid formats.
• Communicating effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Evaluating student progress through tests and assignments in line with course objectives.
• Providing course syllabi to students.
• Maintaining classroom records in accordance with District Policy.
• Turning in all required grading and evaluation reports on time.
• Teaching assignments in various instructional settings and times; other duties as assigned.
