Clovis Community College invites applications for an Anthropology Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool). The ideal candidate will teach a range of Anthropology courses, in-person or online, to a diverse student population.

Strong commitment to equity-minded teaching and collaboration with faculty and staff is essential. Responsibilities include delivering a variety of instructional formats, creating syllabi, maintaining records, and timely assessment of student performance.

Qualifications

• Master’s in anthropology or archaeology is required.
• Bachelor’s in anthropology/archaeology and master’s in sociology, biological sciences, forensic sciences, genetics or paleontology is required.
• A valid California Community College credential is required.
• Equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency) may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Teach a part-time schedule of Anthropology courses as assigned.
• Use a variety of pedagogies and deliver instruction in face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Adhere to approved curriculum course outlines of record.
• Evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, and exams in line with course objectives.
• Provide course syllabi to students.
• Maintain classroom records per District Policy.
• Submit all required grading and evaluation reports on time.
• Handle teaching assignments across varied formats and times, including evenings and weekends.
• Fulfill duties as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Master’s in anthropology or archaeology

Bachelor’s in anthropology/archaeology and master’s in sociology/biological sciences/forensic sciences/genetics/paleontology
