Job summary

City of Carlsbad is seeking a part-time Senior Recreation Leader at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park. The role includes park operations, visitor services, and assisting with programming and special events.

Expect 2-3 shifts weekly for 9-15 hours, mostly weekday afternoons with occasional weekend events. Responsibilities include supervising volunteers, coordinating facility rentals, guiding tours, and delivering excellent customer service to a diverse audience.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Public speaking and interaction with the public daily.
• Attention to detail in records, programming and scheduling.
• Able to provide clerical support for emails, reports and data entry.
• Must work with adults and children in a historic park setting.
• Experience with Excel for program data is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relations with park guests, volunteers and vendors.
• Provide administrative and programming support for activities.
• Assist with recreational programs and events.
• Prepare emails, reports, newsletters and data entry.
• Coordinate with instructors, staff and the public for rentals and visitor information.
• Plan, organize and market activities; participate in staff meetings.
• Set up and break down for camps, classes, programs and events.
