Job summary

Sonesta Hotels International Corporation is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer for our historic hotel in the heart of St. Louis. You will perform hands-on maintenance across HVAC, electrical, lighting, kitchen equipment, and more to ensure a safe, efficient, and exceptional guest experience.

You will thrive in a varied role, solving problems daily, and working with a collaborative team that supports one another in a unique hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance or a skilled trade (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Comfortable using tools, equipment, and basic computer systems.
• A team-oriented mindset and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to lift, move, and work in a physically active role.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Maintain and troubleshoot systems including HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, kitchen/refrigeration equipment, and more.
• Help ensure all equipment is ready and operational for daily use.
• Use schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals to complete repairs effectively; accurately complete work orders and document all work performed.
