Northwell Health is seeking a qualified Histotechnologist to prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination. The role includes grossing, fixation, embedding, microtomy, and mounting slides for staining.

You will perform routine and specialized stains, including H&E, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization, operate staining equipment, maintain records, and assist in training junior staff. NY licensure is required with 0–1 years of experience preferred.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Current License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Histotechnologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 0-1 years of technical experience, required.

Mansioni

• Prepare tissue specimens for processing and identify specimens throughout handling.
• Fix, dehydrate, clear, and embed tissue specimens using standard techniques.
• Perform microtomy and mount tissue sections on slides for staining.
• Carry out routine and special histological staining, including H&E.
• Execute specialized staining techniques (immunohistochemistry, enzyme histochemistry, immune fluorescence, ISH).
• Operate automated staining equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain accurate records and protect patient confidentiality.
• Assist in training new laboratory personnel.
• Apply independent judgment within defined parameters and work under minimal supervision.
