GI Alliance in Connecticut is seeking a Histotechnician/HTL to perform embedding, microtomy, staining and filing in the histology lab. The role includes handling tissue processing, slide preparation and routine maintenance of equipment, with emphasis on quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities include providing backup for Lab Assistant duties, ensuring compliance with CLIA and CAP regulations, maintaining logs, and collaborating with pathologists and team members in a fast-paced lab environment.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in science or equivalent required for HTL performing gross examination and high-complexity testing.
• Education/training sufficient to support CLIA 88 requirements for the position.

Mansioni

• Provide back up for Lab Assistant duties.
• Gross, embed, cut, and stain tissue according to procedures.
• Perform routine and specialized histology tissue, slide prep and staining.
• Complete workload within prescribed time.
• Prepare reagents for tissue processing and staining.
• Maintain logs and records of testing.
• Distribute slides to pathologists.
