Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (LIC-CLT or LIC-CYTOT), required.
• Minimum of one year work experience and/or training specific to the work.
• Histology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and performs routine and/or complex laboratory tests and procedures; prepares and tests specimens and reports results.
• Follows in-process quality control procedures and records data.
• Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoots basic instrumentation, culture media, chemicals, reagents, stains and solutions.
• Maintains supplies at the workstation and ensures quality control/assurance activities.
• Uses infection control practices and procedures.
• Performs related duties as required.

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field
