Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an approved clinical laboratory technician program.
• Six months of experience in a histology laboratory.
• NYS Education Department certification as Clinical Laboratory Technician, Certified Histological Technician, or Pathologist Assistant; NYS license via grandparenting pathway.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine histologic procedures including accessioning, grossing/wrapping specimens, embedding, sectioning with H&E, and routine special staining.
• Cover slipping and slide documentation; maintain and train on new laboratory equipment.
• Prepare solutions for histological examinations.
