Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Histology Technician at Danbury Hospital to accurately fix, embed, cut and stain tissue for Pathologist interpretation and diagnosis. You will deliver quality technical work and customer service to all customers, and perform the full range of routine histology duties.

Education: Associate's degree is required; Histotechnologist Certification (HTL ASCP) preferred; Bachelor's degree listed as a plus. Minimum 3 years of job-related experience is favored.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine histology procedures including embedding, cutting, mounting and staining.
• Prepares slides for examination by Pathologists and residents.
• Maintains inventory and adheres to safety and quality standards.
• Ensures specimen integrity and proper labeling for accuracy.
• Teaches and trains new staff and students as needed.
• Fulfills compliance responsibilities related to the position.
