Job summary

University Hospitals in Cleveland is seeking a Histotechnologist I to prepare tissue specimens for surgical pathology. You will embed, cut, and stain slides using automated or manual methods, while ensuring quality and efficiency.

A strong foundation in histology and adherence to safety and regulatory standards are essential, with a defined career ladder and a $6K sign-on bonus. Required education includes an associate or bachelor's degree in a lab science and ASCP HT certification; 1+ year

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology.
ASCP HT certification (HTL/HT) obtained on or before December 31, 2004.
1+ years of experience in a clinical histology laboratory is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs embedding and cutting on biopsies and surgical specimens with quality and productivity standards.
Follows lab policies to perform moderate complexity testing.
Maintains competency assessment across assigned areas.
Maintains, troubleshoots, and documents lab equipment failures.
Completes mandatory assignments within deadlines.
Communicates clearly with team to optimize operations.
Participates in departmental projects and contributes to environment/initiatives.
Takes responsibility for self-development.
